    Oil with Bilsteins?

I know the manual instructs you to pour some ATF into the housing when installing new shocks. This applies to Bilsteins too, right? Considering what these things cost, I dont want to booger anything up.

    Thanks

NO oil. Modern gas shocks don't need that stuff.

I would think if nothing else, it can help prevent seizing due to rust.........

There is no real need for it.

Don't re-fill it, just leave some of the old stuff in there. It'll prevent moisture from getting into the strut housing and freezing - cracking your pretty strut housing and making you do all the work again.

I've always just left what is in there ..don't make a point to clean it out but I don't add any either .

I put it in mine even though Billy said no. In my mind the positives outweigh the negatives. Water gets everywhere in WA - so like mentioned freezing or more importantly corrosion were my reasons. If I get some heat transfer that's just icing on the cake.

I bought mine used, so no warrenty to worry about voiding though.
