    Transmission Identification

    If I were hypothetically looking for a Getrag 265, 280, 260/6 or 260/5 how could I decipher which one I have by looking at the transmission? If there is an identification number on it, where would it be? Silly newb question...i know but if anyone can help I'd appreciate it. Thanks

      If I recall correctly, there will be a cast-in number on the left side of the bellhousing.
      The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          They all have it cast in several places .

          Just look on the bellhousing like stated above , also look on the rear like this :


          E30 M3 / E30 325is / E34 525iT / E34 535i
