    untimely interruption

I'll be driving down the road just buzzing along and bopping to the music when all of a sudden i loose power. i mean it just dies! then i have to depress the clutch, pump the accelorater to build up rpm while easing out the clutch and hope for enough power to get where i wanna go. whats the most common cause of this in the e30? i'm thinking my distributor is going bad but that doesn't seem to jive with me pumping the gas.

    replace your fuel filter.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

Sounds like a fuel delivery issue. I agree you probably need a new fuel filter.

you're right, the filter did it. it runs smoothly again. i'm gonna replace the carbon filter also cuz i smell gas intermittently. thanks again for being dead-on.

the odor of gas could be coming from the top of the tank. Theres a thread here somewhere. One of the vent hoses will deteriate and pour gas onto the tank

You're welcome. It wasn't too tough. Glad to see you're the kind of guy to get on stuff quickly. Welcome to the forums.
