Go over to the e30 section on bimmerforums, there's a guy doing that swap over there, seems to be taking a while.

I would love to do this swap actually.

Truth be told, I'd probably cut the entire front clip off the car and just tube frame it from the firewall forward, it would make fitment of the engine and all it's assorted components much easier. Seeing as you can get all of the front panels made in carbon fibre, it would strip a lot of weight as well.

One of the featured cars in this month's Eurotuner is an '87 325i with a 4.0l V8 shortblock.

Cheaper to do the LS1 but both require much fabrication a deep pockets.

Yes, I know I am a slow ass. Between work and buying a new house, the LS1 conversion has been on the back burner.

I have most of the different systems 75% done, but I am not really finished with any of them. That is my goal for the next month get most of the partially completed systems done.

My new CHs are supposed to be here tomorrow and my e36 M3 body kit should be coming in the next few weeks. So body and fender flares after the other systems are complete. That should give the guy who is reworking my harness and PCM (ECM) time to get them finished and back to me.

The only system I am not completely set on is the braking system (somewhat important). I have purchased a wilwood setup dual master cyl along with clutch pedal & a ford modular mustang hydroboost. I am not happy with either setup right now. I think I am going to try a third which is a wilwood master cyl w/ remote reserviors with the stock pedal assy. Oh yeah, and I have to finish fabricating those damn headers.

I can answer specific questions if you have them.

How'd you end up getting the driver's side routed around the steering shaft? How is it shielded?
