    Swap/Transmission Q

Don't want to sound like a noob or anything, but I have a question...

Will my HECK box (from '87 325es) "work" with a M20B25 (from '90 325is) that was attached to a GETRAG 260? I'm thinking it will, but, please correct me if I'm wrong before I'm in the middle of the damn swap.

Probably more of a question involving/regarding the clutch, anyways.

    Thanks everybody

It will work just fine, use the tranny from the es, and the flywheel and clutch from the 325is and you might have to change out the output flange on the tranny if it hooked up to a different sized guibo but thats easy, go ahead and put a rear main seal, selector shaft seal, and tranny seals in there while you are at it. It might be a good time to rebuild your shifter linkage also........

Ive done 2 tranny swaps in the past year! one on my 89 325is, tranny taken from a 85 325 and another on my GF's car, witch is a 89 325i, tranny taken from a 87 325.. every part was direct bolt on! all i did was get new clutchs and replaced anything that had to be replaced (flex disk, center support bearing ect..) everything works fine, no problems..
o and my car has a single mass flywheel and hers has a dual mass flywheel.

All six cylinder transmissions in the E30 generation were the Getrag 260. The only variation in terms of equipped transmissions occurred in four cylinder E30's, in which you could have either a Getrag 240 or a ZF S5-16.

All should be gravy. Good luck with the swap.
