Car Wont Start, Changed Many Things!!!

Ok, so this is about the 3rd or fourth time it has done this. My car will not start...does a little hit and miss. it will catch, then it will die, catch and die. Sometimes if im lucky, i will be able to drive it around a little bit, but then it just dies. just like its not getting fuel.

just the other day after changed the fuel regulator, it was running. i let it warm up to normal driving temperature, and then shut it off. let it cool all the way down. started, then drove it about 3 miles, stopped for 2 mins, went to start it again...It did not start anymore.

here are a list of things that i have replaced already, and it has not helped.

    1. Fuel Filter (started to run for about a week, then died again)

    2. Fuel pump Relay (ran for a week, then died)

    3. Fuel Pump (ran then died, just like everything else.)

    4. Fuel Regulator

    5. Crank Shaft position sensor (still did not start)

oh, and by the way, as of right now, im getting spark, but no fuel.

    HELP! i am completely dumbfounded.

Sounds like a Bad injector harness. Check to see if it is corroded away at the connection under the intake.

        *UPDATE*

well, i went back to the fuel pump...it was getting power, so i checked to see if it was coming out...

        NOTHING!

decided to put my old one back in...BAM fuel...and it started right up!!

now do you guys think it was a faulty fuel pump...or something burnt it out. My old one has over 160000 miles on it, and when it stopped running (so i thought) i put the new one in, and it ran, BUT then it died...so technically the old fuel pump still works, but the new one does not...( i know, that just confused me...) lol

so ANYWAY do you think what every happened to my new fuel pump will happen to my old one?

becuase i am back at square one. and i personally dont think that fixed the problem...

as backtrail stated. check the big connector under the intake mani...sometimes that will get some coolant or oil and will give you all sort of funny problems with your engine.

Was the replacement pump a new unit from a BMW dealer? New parts can go bad, but fortunately BMW usually stands behind them and will replace it.

The other thing to check is to see if the fuel tank is loaded up with sediment. If there's a lot in the tank it can and will clog the pump inlet screen and choke off fuel flow.

A fault in the injector harness will throw a CEL for either or both banks. If you don't have a CEL you need to look to the pump and/or tank as the cause of no fuel flow.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
