    Speedo WTF

I got in my car and drove off. When I looked at the OBC the light was very dim and then my speed went to zero and has remained there since. Also my fuel gauge does waht ever it wants. I had the cluster out before and my grandpa, or someone had removed the LED part of the service indicator board, now I have three or four of the boards, but I am not sure if I have any of the lights. Would this cause any malfunction>?

no would that cause the speedo to stop? I guess maybe it jsut died, it is robably the fourth one that has been put in. What specfic batteries must be used on the board? or jsut any rechargable AA's? Where can i buy a new speedometer?

It could possibly be the SI batteries. My Tach and temp gauge act up, so i will be replacing my batteries this summer. Good luck finding the problem.[/b]

thanks I will stop at radioshack. I was thinking about soldering a long set of wires, like 30 feet, to the board, then reinstalling the cluster and mounting a battery holder behind the dash so when the new battaries get old again all i would have to do is pop them out and replace them, any problems with this?

Considering the battaries in there are most likely original, that means they probably last well over 10+ years. I don't think they'd need to be changed often enough to require an external battery option.

That's what I'm thinkin anyway. Anyone else?

well I was just thinking it may be easier to solder wires to the board instead of teh battery tags. I have like 4 of the boards.
