I have a bad power steering pump how do I know if the rack is still good?

theres pleny of fluid in the power steering res. but the pump wines pretty bad and its a little hard to steer it at lower speeds. I know for sure the pump is bad but how do I know that the rack is still good? I might upgrade to E36 rack later on but if its bad now I might do it sooner.

I just realized if the rack doesn't leak its prob still good... sorry its late...

Yea, the rack is probably fine. Replace the pump and you can still do the rack swap later.
I love the 95 m3 rack in my 325i.
