    Idle issue

So at times regardless of outside temp or engine temp. My car will idle at 1000 rpms up to 1500. I have unplugged the connection to the ICV before and it would drop to the 650-700 rpm level which is normal however now when you disconnect the unplug the source to the ICV nothing changes. Any ideas as to a probable fix. Thanks
    Also car is 90 325is

Congrats, you killed it when it was cleaned. Fairly common. You MUST use electronic friendly spray cleaner or you will kill the ICV.

Time for a new one, or a good used one.

And follow the instructions in your bentley manual.

I had a horrible bouncing idle. When I unplugged the ICV, the idle changed (it actually ran better). Following the bentley procedures, I noticed that my ICV closed all the way when the ignition was turned on. I checked the throttle body sensor, and it was not reading correctly when the throttle was closed (at idle). I adjusted the sensor and it purrs like a kitten now.

                    Does it start hard sometimes?

Check for vacuum leaks, make sure intake boot isn't cracked underneath.

                      NOOOO not carb cleaner.

You need to use electronic friendly spray cleaner. carb cleaner is electrically conductive, special electronic cleaners are not.
