    Central locking

I was working on my car tonight and I noticed that the trunk locking mechanism had a wire coming out of it. So, I asked my fellow e30 friend who was also working on his car what this was for. He looked at it and told me it’s a part of the central locking system. WTF, I don’t have central lock!?!? There is a little pin to lock the gas tank cover as well.

    How can I verify this?

How should I go about trying to get the system working ?

    TIA

        My 318is doesn't have it...

Maybe your central locking "brain" is fried. It's located behind the speaker in the drivers side kick panel. See if one's even there... that's usually how you tell if a car has central locks, by looking to see if the pin for the gas door is there.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

Great idea, now that I know where the brain goes I'll have to check to see if I have one.
