hard sometimes no start in cold (long)

since the weather has been cold my car has been having lots of trouble starting, this is usualy how it goes: i turn the key to on and let he o2 sensor warm up some then i crank it for a couple seconds, doesnt start, crank it a couple seconds again, no start, sometimes ill do it again like these other times i pop the hood, after i pop the hood ill crank it and after a secondish of cranking itll start up and i can be off. usually if i go to start it while its warm ill start up after a second or so of cranking. a couple time i couldnt get it to start at all

the first time it didnt start i had a buddy come out and crank it for me while i checked for spark and for the first couple cranks i had no spark then all the sudden i see spark and bam car starts.

so this makes me think its a spark problem so i check what i can using the bentley and i find my primary and secondary resistances on the coil are .7 and 6750 ohms resp. these numbers are a little bit high could this really be causing me all this trouble.

yesterday it wouldnt start for me again and the battery ran down from trying so i let it charge up over night, this morning i went out there with my multi-meter and did a couple checks, i checked the CPS and got a reading of 480 ohms wich is just 6 ohms outside of the range given by bentley and i deemed this acceptable. so then i start lookin to the fuel pump, though i can hear it give its prime when i turn the key to on, so i pull the center relay from the aux bank as bentley says this is the fuel pump relay but i can still here the fuel pump kick on when i turn it to on, and i dont get 12v on terminal 30. so i want to check with you all on which is the fuel pump relay, on my car the center relay has the largest green wire going to it, and the right relay only has small wires going to it, which of those is the fuel relay. after i plugged everything back up i thought id give it a chance and try to start it and after 1 or 2 crank it fired right up, but after it warmed up its back to taking a second or so to crank.

sorry for writing so much but i thought you should know the whole story

so i think im going to go ahead an replace my coil just to see if it helps, couldnt hurt. is there anything else i should check for?

edit: this car has an smt6 that can alter the afm and ignition (cps) signal also, but i do not think this to be the problem

On my car ('88 Super eta) the fuel pump relay is the forward-most of the three, it's the only one with four pins instead of five.

then i think we have different harnesses, its the farthest back one on mine i pulled it to test spark again, it cranked over once or twice then started sparking.

No spark when cranking over the engine could be a lack of timing reference data to the DME, lack of power to the DME, lack of power to the coil, a bad coil, or the DME itself. Figuring out which is going to require some detective work with a voltmeter or test light and my require parts swapping.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
