    Rear Wheel Bearing/Hub Assembly EMERGENCY!!!

So I'm cruising home from the shop (Bridgestone Racing School Shop) and my wheel bearing goes APESHIT... have to drive the car home at 35 mph for fear the wheel might fall off... my question is...

Has anyone done this job and how difficult is it to do?

What kind of parts am I going to need and what should I look for when diagnosing the issue to assess my parts list?

How can I tell that its JUST a wheel bearing and not the entire hub assembly or other things wrong with the axle?

Any advice will help... thx in advance...

The wheel bearing just went out all at once?

Rear wheel bearings are one of the most PITA repairs on an e30.

Go pay someone to replace them.

"See, we're adding a little something to this month's sales contest. As you all know, first prize is a Cadillac Eldorado. Anyone wanna see second prize? Second prize is a set of steak knives. Third prize is you're fired."

I had one done last summer.

The part was ~$50 CAD and 1.5 hrs work.
The total bill was ~$200 CAD

dont be a wimp, If you get the bearing take that to a machine shop, get a die made thats the size of the outer race just a tad smaller, then get another die made thats the size of the inner race and the seal portion, then just get some spacers and make the tool yourself, clear away a day to do it and learn how, dont be a puss and take it to the dealer,

Its a PITA but ive done it, If youve got the cash laying around just get a new hub and bearing, then get to work with a hammer. GOOD LUCK
