Ok, we now have one part of the puzzle. Now who here has the same measurements to a M42 flywheel?

Ok, since we have not had a reply from Stu we do have one option. Who knows the measurements of a 325i flywheel? If that can fit into a M42 with minor modifications than a M10 flywheel just may with minor modifications.
Who knows the specs of a 325i flywheel?Comment

all you need to know is if it will fit inside the bell housing and what clutch(es) will fit on that flywheel.
If an m10 bellhousing is the same size as an m20, you will likely be able to use the flywheel/clutch assembly, but you may also have to replace the starter with an m20 unit. The cheapest alternative is still to have yours machine lightened, the best alternative is an alu wheel :D

well I've got an 325e single mass flywheel sitting here and just compared the measurments.
The m20 has 136 teeth
AThey both have the exact same outer diameter so the m10 will fit. But the problem will be with the clutch as You'll probaly need a 318i/ or 318is clutch the m20 clutch disk is to big. But if the m10 and M42 share the same clutch disk, whcih according to the BMP catalog they both have a 215mm clutch disk so it's just a matter if the M42 clutch pressure plate will bolt to the 318i flywheel.85 325e 2.7 ITB'd stroker

I'm thinking about going down to my local BMW scrapyard and asking if I can just take some measurements to compare the two and see what I get. When I do this I will post back.Comment
