    My Windshield...WTF?

So tonight I'm working on the ride, had to access the rear shock mounts so had to open the roof. Finish up, and as I pull the top down from the inside the rear view mirror falls in my lap. So I think, this sucks , I'll get the adhesive kit tomorrow. Then as I'm looking closer - the adhesive is fine. A chunk fell out of the glass! So now what do i do? Can I glue this? Will the windshield crack now? ...Arghhh

My guess is you will need a new windshield now.

Just glue it back on. If the windshield ends up cracking then replace it...

Yea, thats what I'll do (glue it) tomorrow. I looked around online and Loctite has a glass super glue. Just never seen it happen. Quality glass.

              You mean on the ceiling?

You can glue it back on and probably be fine. Though, your windshield is much weaker in that spot now. They are designed to absorb the impact of a small object and prevent it from penetrating through the glass and impaling someone.

Then again, I highly doubt that you'll have a spear or flying jackhorse or anything coming through the window. Replace it if it cracks or breaks.

Your mirror is not stock. Maybe whomever retrofitted it did something to cause that?

That button looks like the one most domestic car mirrors attach to.
