    the plan...

    i have an 87 2.7 block, a super eta head, a 272 cam, a t3/t4 turbo saab intercooler which i will be using and a lightened 325i flywheel on my getrag 260 tranny. exhaust manifold should be in next week.

    a few questions. should i switch the crank in the the 2.7 and what kind of numers should i expect. also if i can find it in time i will switch to maf. thanks

    Why do you want to switch the crank?
    I would also recommend using the stock cam when going to forced induction.
    Aftermarket cams increase valve overlap which helps cylinder filling at high rpms, but with a turbo, you'll have more than enough air.
    The driveability will also be retained with the stock cam, it will idle better.
    Sell the cam and use the money for something else.

      What will you be using for fuel management? FMU, smt-6, stand alone?

      Are you going to use an intercooler?

      Numbers will depend a lot on the amount of boost you run.

        Numbers, numbers, numbers. What about driveability? Personally I would shoot for the 2.7 for torques sake. A low boost setup if tuned right could get you about 230 or so crank HP.

        Dan was right about the cam. Use the stock cam for forced induction. The 272 cam is better for NA.

        I've got a SAAB 900 intercooler personally. I was curious as to how and where you are going to mount it. Let me know.

          maybe a 524td (stronger, forged) cam
          ARP headbolts
          Maybe strengthen up all your bolts in the bottom end

          MAF would make a huge difference on this, I wouldn't do this without a MAF conversion and something to tune it (SMT6?)
