    Mysterious spot of coolant (picture)

Coolant was leaking into my car, I thought it was the heater core or maybe the rings (i have metal pipes) but I rented one of those rug doctors from safeway and cleaned it up. There seems to be a strange spot where the coolant is coming out from.

What could it be? Can it still be the heater core? I'm pretty sure its not coming from above otherwise my shin or foot would be getting hit with coolant when I step on the clutch.

i would guess it would be from the heater

are you sure its coolant? could it be brake fluid?

I'm pretty sure its coolant as its green and smells like it. and the fact that my overhead keeps telling me my coolant needs to be topped off.

It's possible the coolant leaked down and into the carpet and soaked thru where it was puddling up at your foot there. A slow leak, maybe?

Did you pull the center console and carpet and poke around? There aren't very many places were coolant which winds up on your floorboard to come from I don't think.

To get underneath that carpet, you'll probably have to cut right next to the heater-element.

However, look at the core, and if that's not leaking, just trace it around - something's leaking in there.
