wipers dont turn off

    wipers dont turn off

    the wipers stay on constantly. when you do turn it on it just gets faster. only turns off when you turn off the car. any idea to whats wrong guys? the car is a 86 325

    thats how its supposed to be! j/k

    first thing i would try is a new stalk switch. i'm not entirely familiar with the wiring, but the switch is usually the first thing to fail in this kind of thing.

    That or the wiper relay is wired up wrong.

          Just a guess. Browsing Mike Miller's 'E30 Market Update' article in the new Bimmer mag, he mentioned that cold-climate E30's have a problem just as you described, and it's attributed to a bad wiper relay. Since you live in Oregon, I'm guessing this is the problem.

            Wiper relay, I had the same thing happen except the washer pump was stuck on also. I swapped the stalk first, mistake...he relay is really cheap and takes exactly 4 seconds to replace (i timed it :)).

              cool! i'll replace that ASAP and let you guys know if it solves the problem. im assuming the relay is located along with all the toher fuses in the fuse box, correct?
