Car starts fine, but started making this weird sound in the morning when I start her up. It goes on for about half to a second after the car starts, and then it goes away. Hard to describe, maybe like a combination of a metal squeel and grind sound. Only happens when I start the car, so it's gotta be a starter going bad right ?

Sounds like you guys are having the same issue that my buddy had on his E30 couple months back. He replaced the starter, and no more noise. If that's the case, I have a brand new started, that was never installed sitting in the garage. PM me if you need to replace yours.
