    what are these connectors?

    88 ix, don't mind the dirty, she's getting cleaned soon. it's just way too cold to have icy water running though the hands right now.

    1st:

    eh??? just a yellow plug to nowhere....

    2nd:


    which is below the fuse box here:





    what are these plugs and what do they do/not do? thanks!!

    Everything orange/yellow is for airbag stuff. That one probably goes to sensors in the front bumper. 2nd one looks like plug for fog lights, but I dont know what has a plug like that up by the fusebox.

      ok, i vaguely remember that yellow/orange is for airbag... interesting. an 88 with airbag connectors??? strange but i don't know if such a thing could be discounted.

      the other connector really got me baffled though.

        Airbags didn't appear until '90 so I wouldn't think the orange connector is SRS related. ABS components are also similar in color but I wouldn't say for sure since I can't confirm. Neither of those connectors are present in my '90 but I'm curious what they would be used for.

          The big connector was for another horn that some cars had there, no I do not know why or what it was used for.

              Black 90 deg plug

              My 88' is has that (2) prong black angle plug and I never knew, Horn you say ? , OEM alarm or remove opener plug for horn?? I'd like to know too! joe
