    Fixed obc backlight...but

i used the diy and soldered in some new bulbs from radio shack for $2, so far a home run. i even fixed a couple bad connections on my cluster board while i was at it.
now for the bad my obc doesn't fully work. i have clock date and timer functions but no others, temp avg mgp mph... it just reads pppp. i checked the wiring harness and all is good. i also tried to reset but it did not work. my only other thoughts are that it might be a bad code plug. wondering if anybidy else has come across this problem and has a solution

With the key in the "Radio" position (Radio and OBC light up, but not the instrument cluster), press the "CODE" button. Then push the little reset-hole with a Pen and hold it, 'till the computer blinks in the display, and it will ask you for a time and date entry. - You now have re-adapted the coding plug to the computer. - Normally the computer goes into a PPPP mode when the car has been boosted, or some other very drastically voltage changes have occurred.

Also disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it usually sorts it out.

the reset stuff didn't work so i ordered up a working used obc from a 325e. my only other thought could be that i swapped clusters for a higher tack and maybe this has something to do with it
