A/C parts interchangeability?

So I think the AC compressor is dead in my 84 325e. When the AC button in the car is pushed, there is no drop in idle.

I'm in a position where I can snag all the AC hardware off my old 90 325is that actually was running an eta for the shortblock. Should all the parts be compatible with the '84? Even electronics, wiring, etc?
