thanks in advance on any help identifying where this guy should go... (i'm hoping it will make my heater work)

Picture two: you can see where it is dangling in relation to the heater core pipe/switch

Looks like an aftermarket fuse holder to me, I would venture that it doesn't have anything to do with the heater. Still have the OE stereo, or is it something else?

why exactly doesn't your heater work? does the fan not come on? or does it just blow cold? both are simple fixes

about my heater... the fan comes on just fine, but the heat blows cold. the bottom tube that leads to the core gets hot, but the tube with the switch on it does not get hot.... this car has had some super ghetto wiring, so I am now on the assumption all issues are electical related. The car had an alarm at one time, judging by what I can see under the column. It also has an aftermarket stereo. But the peculiar thing is this plug seems to come out of the factory harness where the heater plug/switch is.

thanks in advance for any advice.

I'm going to say that the fuse holder is for an aftermarket alarm or maybe stereo.

it seems large for a fuse holder...

anyhow? You guys think I should just change the heater core? is there a way to test the switch?
