    Engine kill at 3500 rpms...

My problem is that I have an 89 E30 with over 200K miles runs great...only problem is when I floor it, right around 3500 rpms the engine dies out...and as i ease up on the accelerator then it runs fine....it only happens when i press the accelerator to the floor...

I've taken it to 2 bimmer shops in socal...they both could not figure it out except for saying it is "electrical"

    any help?

are they sure it is electrical...could just be a bad fuel pump...plumb in a gauge, tape it to your winshield, and drive

I had the same problem last week when it was really cold here. Since its warmed up, it's stopped for the most part... but my mechanic buddy suggested the crank sensor was fuckin up in the cold weather, and it kinda makes sense. Ive also heard clogged cat, plug wires/ignition coil could do it.

I had the same problem and the AFM ended up being the problem.
