    New e30 Owner. Have some Questions

    I recently got a 86' 325e 5 speed, with 208k on the clock, but looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor. The car was kept in the PO's family, have all the service records and such since the car was bought. The engine bay, interior and truck are all spots maybe a flaw or two there. It has been lowered, has wheels (was told Millie Milgas? Good? Bad?), Ansa Cat-back system, newer model valence, tinted windows and possibly chipped. Ive been reading on a few e30 related fourms and have yet to figured out some things. How do I figure out if it is chipped or not? How do I figure out if the springs where cut or just lowering springs where bought(from what I can tell they are a silverish color)? My dad gave me the car for Christmas for getting good grades, so I never really got a chance to talk to the PO. Ive read several FAQs on here e30tech and bimmerforums, so I have a decent idea about some things on them so I am learning. Thanks!

      She looks cosmetically solid.

      Check the center cap on the alloy's if you see this logo (either in gray or red) then they are indeed Millie Miglias

      I've never heard anything negative about Mile Miglias.

      And welcome aboard R3V :up:

        Hey Cody, welcome to R3V.

        Easy chip test? Rev that sucker up and see if it will go past redline. Yes = chipped.

        No = buy a chip.

        Sweet little car there man...just wait, the mod bug will bite your wallet off.

        Oh yeah, good job on the grades, too.

          Nice e30 welcome to R3V. U should be able to look and see if the springs were cut just by lifting the front up. Wuts ur plans to it? look real clean cosmetically.

            Lol, but don't do it too much unless you want to put a new head on the thing when you blow it.

                    The car does indeed have a chip it does go past the redline. The wheel do have those arrows in black. I would like to try some autox this summer and possibly take some drivers classes in it. With the car itself, I want to drive it until the 2.7 goes out then maybe a m50, but until then I don't plan many motor mods just mainly cosmetic and suspension. Yep I got a LTR450, had it since last March.

                      Also, the PO said that he put a M3 differential and axles in. Just lookin at it from behind the car the diff is finned, is there any difference between a M3 Lsd diff then one out of a non-M E30?
