    Brake chatter

My rear brakes are rattle like a b*tch over every bump unless I'm holding the brake pedal. I think it's due to when I put new pads in a while ago, I clipped off the metal prongs on the one pad that goes into the piston. I d*cked around with them for a half an hour trying to get them in with the prongs, but just wouldn't go, so I clipped them off.

Any suggestions on something I could put between the piston and pad to keep it from rattling? (and not be really hack)

make sure you didnt loose one of the anti-rattle clips on the outside of the caliper, also.. those retaining clips are there for a reason, you shouldn't have clipped them off. I have no idea why you would need to...

yeah, the rattle clips are still there, that's the first thing I checked actually.

They are Pagid pads, so I have no idea why they wouldn't fit in there, I never had that problem with any other pads I ran before. My friend and each took a caliper and pad and worked with it for 30 minutes. He wanted to clip them off after a few minutes, and I told him not to but eventually had to.
