wiring in but no spark or feul?

Well i got my harness wired up thanks to rs4pro3. it is a 318i swaped in a m20. well I put in the feul tank and pump from a 90 325is. there is some differences between the cars feul system. The 318i has a pump in the tank and in front the the rear tire. plus the 325 has a pump and then what i think is a float on the opposite side of the tank. So 2 more wires than mine had and one less pump.4 questions
    1. Do i need the second pump in front of the rear tire?
    2. Will a coil from a 318i work(jettronic) on a m20 (motronic)?
    3. Since there is 1 extra plug on the 325is tank is it jumped from the first plug beside the pump As i only have one set of wires from the 318i tank( not including the pump plug)
4.The only way i am getting power to the pump is jumping power right before the fuse box..Any ideas ( i looked at the wiring diagram and i have the right wire connected red /violet)
thanks guys.. any help other than burn it would be great

the later style pump had the main pump on the passenger side of the tank. What I'd do is wire the plug in front of the wheel all the way to the new pump. You'll need the 325i coil I believe as it's more powerful.
You won't need the second pump as long as you wire everything and route the hose correctly as You'll have to run the hose from the pump to the fuel filter and bypass where the old pump would of been.
If you jumper the fuel pump relay will the pump get power?

I checked the relay and It has power on 2 points.I touhed the light tester on anothe spot on the relay and it started the pump. the probem is that it is always on. as far as the second pump. I removed it thinking it wasent needed. and just ran the hoses. On the fel tank from the 325is the is the pump plug and a 2 prong plug beside it. then on the other side of the tank the is another 2 prong plug looks like a second float?
If you have MSN i can ask you the questions there?

just to make sure did you try to ever start the engine before you did the correct wiring? If so yank open the engine harness and check the condition of the Red/white wire running to the fuel pump relay. My friend on his 84 318i when we stuck the 86 eta engine in wired it wrong and Fried this wire about a foot from the starter. Once we traced the problem and ran a new wire bypassing the burnt spot the car started right up.
