    idle dilema. oil maybe?

ok. i did an oil change on my ix a few days ago.

i jusT bought the car and i don't know what oil was in the car prior to the change. So i put in caSTrol high mileage 20w50. and a boSch filter.

this is the problem. when i sTart my car. its fine. idle perfect. but when the temp gets beyond the end of the blue Section, my car's idle StartS to fluxuate from 1k down to about 200 rmp'S. sometimeS it will even sTall. if i try to dry the car during this, it is a extremely choppy drive. i will sTep on the pedal to the floor, and nothing will happen, but then 2 secs later it will kick in. SAme thing in every gear. after a while of doing this, the car will warm up and perform perfectly. like nothing waS ever wrong. its weird.

you know when you take out your dipstick when the car is running and you have no compreSsion SO your car's idle fluxuates. thats what it is exactly like.

i was thinking that maybe the PO had been running Synth and the switch might have been too much. idk. or fuel injectors. or an oil thing. i need your help.

    thank you.

When you pull your dipstick up it allows unmeasured air to enter the engine, or a vacuum leak. Try cleaning out your idle control valve with some carb cleaner and check the rubber intake boot for any cracks.

It's a not related to the oil change, if you have no vacuum leaks, and the afm rubber boot is good then you probably need a new idle control valve. Cleaning may help, but my experience is that it makes it worse.

PS- my engine oil light comeS on.

that kinda makeS sensE. i had a problem with my air filter when i firsT bought the car. ill check around that.

if i do need a new ICV, do i get one from a junk yard, or literally order it new?

OREO- every time i press "S" it turns capS lock on for one or 2 letters. itS a Shitty virus. also, when i presS x it changeS teh window and before, everytime i pressed the sPace bar a search window would come up. its horrible.
