so i got myself some shift lever bushes...the nylon upper and lower cups for the sheet metal shift console.....but to install the top one you need to disassemble the shift lever....i can see a circlip....but no way to get at it....any suggestions?

You need to grind out the middle of the top one so that it'll just barely slide over the thick part of the lever. I had to do the same thing when I installed my Z4 lever in the sheetmetal console.Originally posted by Grueliusand i do not know what bugg brakes are. -
Don't sand down the inside of it so much that it fits over the fulcrum (ball) too. It should be able to just slip over the upper lever (take the stickers off) and then it will sit on top of the fulcrum. I took a piece of sand paper and made it into a cone shape and sanded the inside of the bushing. Just sand a little at a time until it barely slips over the upper lever.
