    Probs w/ Ronal LS & 225's

Just got some 225/50-15 Hankook RS2's mounted on new Ronal LS's today.

When putting the fronts on, the tire was rubbing the front struts! wth....I thought guys were running 225's on these rims w/ no problems? or is it the super low SPAX suspension that is causing the probs?

Looks like P/O used spacers under the stock cross-spokes, and I couldn't get the rears off..........any idea how to remove stuck spacers? The rear 225's won't clear the fender lips with the spacers.

Lastly, I thought these rims were ET20, but it appears they are ET25.

    Any helpful comments are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Chris

Hammer and a flat head screw driver. That's how I did it.

I have the same problem, and was afraid that was the answer I would receive. (spacers, that is)

ya i figured this was the only way....I'll just hit harder ;)

How bout anyone know about the front 225's not fitting.....I thought the only probs might be the rear as far as hitting the struts???? I'm bummed cuz I thought this setup would cause no probs with regards to fitment.......now it's a pia.

The 225 hankook RS2s run alot wider than normal 225s. That is the problem. You are going to have to space them out and hope your fender is alright or get different tires. My 225 rs2s BARELY fit the front of my car with 16x8 et20 wheels.

might have to raise her up a bit and or roll those fenders

could you snap some pics to give us a clearer idea?

backtrail, those RS2's certainly looked like a wide 225. I ran Dunlop SP9000 (considered a wider 225) in 225/45-16 on my cab w/ 16x7.5" rims and they def were not as wide as these on 15x7.5" rims. I might have to just run a 205 or less up front. Fender's are now rolled the old fashion way (baseball bat muahahha) so there should be a bit more room....unfortunately I can't get the lips pressed against the fender without a roller.

Here is a pic of the drop on the car, but I will most likely get the new suspension fitted tomorrow, before I put the new wheel setup back........some IE 3's with stacked spring pads in the rear.

So would the front strut be closer to the wheel if the car is lowered ALOT? Stock CAB's for now....but planning on changing to E30 M3 or THR in the near future.

No the strut stays in the same place since the spindle is solidly mounted to the strut. I am running 215/50 on my set of ronals. I was planning on getting some 225/50 BFG g-force sports in the near future for my daily. If you can get alittle more neg camber that will help out with tire fitment as well.

I have 225 50 Falkens on mine and they clear the struts but are close. My understanding is that if you want to run 225 in the front with no spacer, it needs to be a narrow 225 (tire widths vary quite a bit even though they are labeled the same)
