M42 Blower Motor - 5" Aluminum or 4" Plastic inlet?

Can anyone tell me if my 1991 318IS has a blower motor with a 5" fan diameter with aluminum inlet, or a 4" fan diameter with plastic inlet? Looking it up under realoem.com, both parts came up. The car is currently stored at my parents' place and I'd like to order it without having to go down there to see for myself.

if both come up you probably need to look at your production date on the door jam sticker.

im almost positive you have the 4" er . i have a 1991 318is, although mine is an actual german bought car, i have the 4". its not too difficult to check , unless your parents are compeltely against helping you with it.

Thanks, I got the vin # but both are still coming up under the VIN#?? Looking at the diagrams, I think it's the 5".

        vs.

The first one is the 5", the second one is the 4". I remember seeing part #7 (in the first image) when I went in to change the resistor pack. I don't know if my memory is a good thing to rely on, but I'm pretty sure it's the 5".
