    Car dead, hrm..(longish)

Well im not sure how much your going to be able to pull from this but ill give it a go:

Two days ago one of my low-hanging boost pipes hit the driveway coming into a friends house. He has a gravel driveway, what i hit was the road on the dip that drops onto his actual driveway. Wasnt a big deal, ive driven with it off before and decided to wait till i got home to fix it as it was raining. Strange thing was that i thought, at the time, that it caused a vacuum leak as it started idling at around 1800 RPM. When i come back out to drive home, car starts up and is running really shitty...i get out of the driveway and WAHHHHHHHHH, the car redlines itself, and i quickly turn off the car. I get out, check under the hood and notice the TB stuck, so i wiggle it and it goes back to its normal position. I restart the car, and take off again, and the car is still acting up, miss firing and not responding to anything till about 30% throttle. i get up the road a little ways and it redlines it self again, i again turn it off, and turn it back on, it and it seems to have corrected itself. I get close to home and it starts getting worse...at full throttle the car starts bucking really hard, and it wont even idle, it just dies when i let off the throttle. I eventually get it home and park it and say ill mess with it tomarrow as its late and i have to work in the morning. Flash forward to the next day, after work. I open the hood and see that the boost pipe is disconnected where i thought it was, but everything else seems fine. so i hunt for some vacuum leaks, and tighten all the hose clamps on the intake and take it for drive. Car still driving shitty, worse than the night before. As i get about 2 miles from my house, its become undriveable. throttle input isnt having a whole lot of effect, and when i hit full throttle, the engine just acts like i let off the throttle in gear and starts coasting down. As i work my way up a slight incline at about 8 miles an hour, the car stops responding to the gas pedal and stalls, and i coast backwards into someones driveway. I attempt to restart the car acts like it wants to start, its catching and the rpm's start moving up slightly, but not enough to make it really catch. Soon it stops even doing that, and i push it accross the street. I get out and check the AFM, theres a rock (or two) wedging the AFM door open. so i think ive found the problem, i get the rocks out, door opens and shuts freely again, and i try to restart the car, wont start. i cant find anything else wrong with anything, so i assume its just flooded from all the cranking and the AFM being stuck open giving it a bunch of fuel...so i leave and come back in the morning (today) and it stil wont start. my theories are:

    A) AFM is just broken now
    B) fuel pump is dead
    C) maybe sucked a rock past the throttlebody into a cylinder

Any ideas guys? I got the car towed to my driveway about 15 minutes ago.

    D) Intake is full of gravel
Don't forget the good things Hitler did.

Yeah. Take your intake apart and clean it out before going any further.

yea i did, it wasnt "full of gravel" it was just one or two very small rocks wedging the intake open.

Well if two rocks were holding the AFM door open, and the TB was 'mysteriously' staying open, chances are that rocks and other shit got all up in there. I'd at least take the intake manifold off and see what kind of stuff is in there.

Unless you mean you already did take everything off, not just the easy peasy stuff.

How the fuck did large rocks get past your airfilter?

He shoveled them in through the intake tube dragging on the ground.

Quite funny if you ask me.

im gonna do a compression check and maybe avoid taking off the intake manifold.

                not large rocks.

well as the pipes are horizontal to the movement of the car backing out the driveway...i was surprised that anything would get there, much less get sucked up 1.5 feet of aluminum pipe. but hell!

i may be in the market for a new damn engine! shat!

NO start with basics first. Pull a plug and look inside and at the plugs overall condition. See if the electrode is crushed. Then maybe pull the intake side to see if you have a valve stuck by a rock. If no damage then do a compression check.

i can look at the spark plugs while doing a compression check.

both of which is easier than taking off the intake manifold... if i see a problem, the head is coming off
