People with Z3 rear trailing arms...

What did you do for brakes? Has anyone fitted the stock E30 M3 ones? What did you do for rims?

I'm trying to figure out if it's better just to take my arms off and reinforce them, or to get the Z3M ones.

Your post is a little confusing.

I presume you are talking about M Coupe/Roadster trailing arms not Z3 ones??

The Z3 ones will be the wrong offset for your E30 M3 wheels (et25'ish)
The M Coupe/Roadster ones will be better but may not be the same as your originals.

I know the M Coupe/Roadster trailing arms have 18mm less offset than the Z3 ones so they could be OK for the M3!?!?!

The increase in brake size would be a good upgrade, but you would want something to match up the front!! Do E36 M3 brakes bolt onto the E30 M3??

      Confusing? I stated Z3M arms.

Yes, I know the offset is different, but on the Z they have big fender wells, on a E30 the offset will change, and I wanted to know to what.

I don't want to spend the $$ on Z3M brakes and stuff, I would rather put the money into a AP racing brake kit.

I'm going to pull my arms and have them reinforced.

The Z3M (E36 M3) front calipers will bolt up, the rotor will not fit.

If you are getting a BBK then I would just go with welding on your own reinforcements. Gustave has great pictures on his site that show where to to put the pieces of metal. It would also be a lot less of a hassel modifying your own.

modify your own... that what i did... its a lot less hassle and a lot cheeper in the long run than swapping suspensions and the setup on gustave's site(the one i used) actually makes the arms stronger than zm3 arms

What kind of metal did you use as the reinforcements?
