Is Air Dam (pre 88) attatcment

How in the hell do these things mount with the rebar? I assume I am missing the brackets (broken off long time ago) but anyone got any pictures of how it mounts?

Or any ideas how to mount one a different way?

My broken one is not so broken anymore

    Sold it.

I know *ahem* someone that just bolted it to the bottom of their bumper.

Fred Kim's site is down I guess. He had an article on how they mount.

haha.. yeeahhh.. I had two different mounting brackets that were both broken, and the dealer couldn't get it for me.. so I got a little "creative".

I mounted it with 4 bolts up through the bumper spread out evenly across the front and a screw on each side.

I gave it a REALLY hard beating, and it stayed on very well. :-)
I busted the spoiler to pieces.. but it stayed attached all that time.
I'm about to mount another one the same way.

Ya.. My friend said to bolt it straight to the bumper. But he also willingly but a chevette Its cool a v6 is goin in it.. ANYWAY

This is the one I am almost done fixing. (Obviously a before pic.. my cams broke right now) Making that corner was a mission.

Bimmerlover.. did you just use self tapping or a nut and bolt threw the bumper.

        Sold it.

Attach it to the bumper with some self tapping screws. Works great.

Do you need the mounting stuff? I have the bracket and bolts.. Im not sure if you need to valance to go with it or not, but the mounting bracket slides in on the top and has like 4 funky plastic things that bolt right on the valance. If you want the bracket let me know or if anyone wants the bracket i dont think that clay needs it. He is buying my iS spoiler. oh yea, BMX that shouldnt be to tough to fix. Mine had a 6 inch crack up the side and a little epoxy and fiberglass took it right out..

I bolted mine up to the bumper also. I tried with the bracket, but it looked like it would pull it too far back, angling it and making it look stupid. I also used some self tapping screws to mount the "end lip" to the wheel arches, wich I think gave it some stregnth. The only thing I used from the bracket are the 2 straight plastic pieces that I screwed from the "slots" to the valence.

                          Hope this helps.

I think I will just use nuts and bolts/self tap.

No sense breaking plastic mounting things and running it over (will not survive).

I have already fixed mine. If my camera card reader didnt break I would snap some pics.

I might be picking up another one if I can scrape up some money, and pay shipping.

                            Sold it.
