    Sqeals like a Pig!!!

Hi i am new to the forum and have recently purchased an 87 325is. Everything is great but recently i have been experiencing a squealing noise when i push the clutch pedal in when the car is running. The car shifts fine i have no trouble changing gears but everytime i push the clutch pedal down it squeals. I have done searches and most people say THROWOUT BEARING but from what i have read people say their noise goes away with the pedal pushed in. I have no clue what it could be other than the TO bearing but it does not show the symptoms of what i have read. Any and all help will be appreciated and thanks in advance.

The most common symptom of a bad throwout bearing is noise that occurs when you have pressure on the clutch pedal. But whether this problem is with the throwout bearing, pilot bearing, or clutch is pretty much immaterial since the transmission has to be removed. Once that's done it will be pretty easy to figure out what parts require replacement, which will probably wind up being everything unless the clutch has been recently done.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Throwout bearing. Changed mine last week. Don't drive it unless it's to the mechanic's shop.

+1. What is actually going on is its now wearing on the fingers of the pressure plate. Soon it will bore a throwout bearing sized hole through the fingers and you will be clutchless.
