    my new Z4 shifter is...

the awesomest thing i have ever bought ever
i heard it was really notchy shifting but its really not all that bad i think its great
does anyone know what the leftover rubber bushing is for
understeer.com didnt say anything about it so im guessing its not vital
is it for the front of the shifter carier deal (the thing that holds the lever in place)?

      That'd be my guess too.

I love my Z4 lever! Thanks, Rob! Are you planning on getting the UUC ssk soon?

All of the levers are about the same price. Go for the Z4 3.0 lever.

                    It's the shortest throw.

It's hard to describe. The lever doesnt exactly 'slide' into place. It takes two 'clicks' to change gears; pop it out and pop it in. Almost like there are just notches for the gears. You have to experience it for yourself. I love it.

right now i have a 99 328i shift lever in my car and it kind of clicks once when it gets in gear so i think i may know what you are talking about.

Most likely exactly what I'm talking about. The Z4 will just be more extreme.
