    Obc To Calibrate Odometer ??

Did a search on this but couldn't come up with the answer
so heres the question . Has anybody ever used the obc to calibrate their speedometer ?? Just how accurate is the obc ??? For some reason my speedo is 10 off @ 60 . When i painted the needles i placed the speedo needle a touch off so when i corrected this problem and set it back to zero .
Since i know 10 off @ 60 (obc reads 50 ) could i just pull the needle again and compensate for 10 thus putting the needle a touch below zero ? (I'm sure purists would say just replace the gear ) Gear replacement will be another project for another day. As far as i'm concerned this is a temporary fix only. Based on the input of this thread i'll make my final determination as to whether or not this will be sufficient for now. In all actuality the only time it will be noticeable is when the vehicle is at a stand still.
Tell me o great ones what do you think ?

There should be a dot on the face of the speedometer, just below zero, that the needle should point to. That should reduce your error.

The speedometer gears only affect the odometer. If they are bad the odometer won't work, but they have no affect on operation of the speedometer.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I checked my OBC with the mile markers on the interstate. It took 60 seconds to go one mile @ 60 MPH. I then calibrated my speedometer to match the OBC. The speedo is accurate now. It used to be 10 MPH fast @ 70. Search speedometer repairs. There is a thread that shows how to calibrate the speedo. Good luck!!
