    Clutch pedal

My clutch pedal is stuck on the floor. I'd pull it up a couple of times so I could get it in gear, but after two or three times, I would press the clutch in, and it wouldn't engage for me to put it in gear. So, does anybody know what this issue is? I think it might be the clutch master cylinder...?
Me: "I can't wait to redline my car!"
Mark: "Didn't you just break a rocker arm?"
Me: "Yeah, I don't think I've learned my lesson."
    Mark: "You never will."

That happened to me, when the piston seal inside the master cylinder failed and allowed backpressure to build in it, "sucking" the pedal to the floor.

    Yep, it's the master cylinder.

It could be either the master or the slave.

One time I was doing an autocross and at the last turn of the day, my pedal didn't come up with my foot. I had recently had the clutch/flywheel replaced and they did not put a bleeder screw back in all of the way, so it was just squirting fluid all over the ground.

My Dad (and the manual) said it could be the pivot fork that helps push the clutch away with leverage action... That sounds fun to replace...

                Try replacing the slave.
That's what it sounds like anyway. :?

try pumping the pedal several times before trying to put it into gear.... also try bleeding the slave cylinder right before you attempt to put it into gear.....

you can take the slave cylinder out pretty easily.... measure the rod that goes from the slave to the release fork and get something a little longer then put it back together and see if it works.... if it does then the pivot point is most likley the problem (or your release fork is bent)

did anything happen before the clutch wouldnt disengouage? were you beating the piss out of the car? if soo you could have ripped the friction material off of the clutch disc and with that floating around in the belhousing it would make it difficult for the clutch to disenguage

Well, I was driving kinda hard. Midway through the clutch was feeling "funny," so I stopped. Then the clutch would just stick to the floor. The thing is, when I press my clutch pedal, I can hear stuff moving around. Now when I press it, I don't hear anything. It just seems odd how the master/slaves could fail so easily and quickly like that. That's what made me think it was something a bit bigger...

me thinks you ripped the friction materal off the clutch disc..... i dont think there is an inspection cover that is easy to remove... but if thre is take it off and have a look....

did you downshift at high speeds?

I didn't really do much downshifting at high speeds. I wouldn't downshift so it'd be at redline, I'd downshift and the rpms would be at 4k. Like, 3rd to 2nd.

I just don't see why the clutch would get ripped apart like that.
