My mpg gauge seems to be pretty accurate, as it hangs out around 25 most of the time.

I have a new rebuild with 4k on it.. I got 29 on highway. Then I drove it hard last week and got 23.. That probable is the range give or take a few mpg's.

Maybe I just need to swap out the 4.10LSD and throw on some 19" spinners....

Just for everyone's info, I replaced the diff on my 318i with a 3.73 lsd and get a consistent 33 mpg, works out to 400mi per tank

My 318is with 240k (recently rebuilt) has new fuel pump, new fuel injectors, new fuel filter. I can put 20 dollars in get ~4.8 gallons and make it ~150 miles.. So i get around 30 normally and no less than 22 when im rocking county roads in third gear.

I learned that replacing with OEM FUEL INJECTORS helps your gas mileage ALOT! i was getting about 15-22 before new injectors.
