Oxygen sensor wiring: 4 wire to 3 wire ?

Ok I searched but couldn't come up with anything helpful. I feel like I have seen the information somewhere before but I can't find it.

Long story short: I need to wire up a newer oxygen sensor that is already installed in my downpipe to my older style wiring harness.

The newer style o2 sensor has 4 wires: 2 white, 1 black, 1 gray
My engine harness has 3 wires: 1 brown, 1 blue, 1 green

Its being installed in a 86es and the o2 sensor is out of a 89i.

Can anyone tell me which wires I need to hook together? Or point me to where I can look for the information?

EDIT: wait first of all can I even use a 325i o2 sensor with my eta?

Highly recommended that you get the right O2 sensor in there.

yeah I know, I have been running it for about a year now with the o2 sensor unplugged. (it was a $100 eta and I threw on my old i exhaust) and my plugs were so fouled up there was almost no gap left.

And are there different mustang 5.0 o2 sensors, or are all of them 3 wire?
