325 turbo need help

ok heres the deal i bought this complete turbo kit and just got tired of it sitting so i installed it. It has a log style turbo maifold ,t3/t4 turbonetics turbo,deltagate wastegate,blitz bov,water intercooler, split second MAF air/fuel guage, braided lines.2.5inch piping mangaflow ss muffler its complete top to bottom. Im still running my proflow MAF til i sell it
Other then that the car has ACT 15x7.5 offset kumho 711 215/50 crossdrilled rotors metalmaster pad eibachs and tokico <--- waste of money car bottoms out everywhere.

I had it running 6 psi in the mornimgs it would spit raw gas out the tail pipe better rich then lean it ran perfect minor pinging at 1st then i put the stock chip in and it worked perfect no pinging i had a bavarian chip in it before some reason it turned my car off at 125mph???? anyway i ran a wrx smashed it by at least 4 car lengths after about 5 mins cursing i opened it up to see what it could do top speed its climbed to 145mph no prob as soon as i let of my check engine light popped on i knew it was major i came to a stop and turned it off disconnected the coil wire and had a friend crank the engine the coolant started bubbling blow head gasket. I drove it home about 2 miles. Now what i wanna do is pull the motor out when i get some time upgrade the clutch and run 12psi daily what all do i need to do to my motor to do that safely? It prob wont be for another motor til its done for now im driving a 318ic thanks

hi there, I'm not sure what is happening to you, I suggest you join e30tech wich we will be glad to help you with technical question about turbocharge M20, this iste contains more detailed info on turbo charged m20 since is comformed by at least 10 memebrrs (included me) that post constantly in there...I'm Diego (diegom6 ) there too

Nice setup, looks like you are runing an aftercooler (air to water IC)

BTW...stay away from that chipp, turbo+chipp= are looking for troubles ---> possible blow engine, tell me more about your setup, what size of injectors, what fuel pump, what FMU or Fuel regulatro are you uning and such things...

i ve got 24lbs injectors and rising rate fuel pressure regualotor thats about it for fuel ignition is all stock

Ok, you want to run 12 PSI, iwan tto run 16 PSI, the max psi I ever ran was 10 PSi with stock timing, at certain point I ddin't get knock, but lately I'm having knoc due the bad fuel.

Anyways, for 12 PSi you will need to buy a MSd Reatrd spark box to prevent pinging or knock, it will destroy your engine, and what caused the blow head gasket of you r engine I'm pretty sure was your pinging, I had the same problem when i tested at first my turbo setup, blew the head gasket due the pinging.

The MSD box has it's limitations, I bought the SMT6 Piggy back syystem wich I can tune my signals and reatrd from it the grades to prevent knock.

You can use also Mega Squirt, it's a pain in the ass bild it, tune i it, wire it, etc etc...just join e30tech.com ask there we will help yopu there, here no body would really can help you since most of the members are runing NA. egines and doesn't know much a bout turbos.
