I haven an '89 325i with a rough idle problem I've never experienced before. The symptom persists no matter if it's warm or cold. Cold, it idles around 1500-2000rpms. Once warm, it idles around 700-750rpm. The idle doesn't surge, it really only varies maybe 50-100rpm's once every 4 to 10 seconds. During this time the car shakes pretty bad though, and I'd like to fix that.
I just cleaned the ICV, even though when I pulled it off and looked inside it looked new. Didn't make a bit of difference. I was thinking next I'd clean the MAF, then maybe consider the O2 sensor? I checked for vacuum leaks, everything looks good.
