    Compressor Enable Switch

Getting my cooling fan issue solved revealed another problem. I'm not getting voltage to the A/C compressor trigger wire. So I dug out the Bentley and have begun trying to sort this out.

Bentley says the wire to pin #4 at the snowflake button comes from the Compressor Enable Switch. What and where is this switch?

Does anyone have a better wire diagram for the A/C wiring? I'd like to trace the compressor trigger wire upstream and see where it comes from.

    Thanks,

    kr

As I recall, the Hi/Lo limit switch mounted in the receiver/dryer is part to the compressor enable circuit. Thus an under or over charge of the system will disable the compressor.

The factory wiring diagrams for the car can be found at http://wedophones.com/BMWManualsLead.htm
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.
