    hood cable grommet

so i am replacing the hood latch mechanism. Did anyone reuse the existing grommet or did you pull out the old one. If you took out the old grommet how did you do it and how do you get the new one in. Ive been tugging/pushing on that thing with no success.

I found that the easiest way was to cut the remaining cable in the engin compartment and pull the rest of the cable out through the car and then the grommet is sittin it the spot where you can just get the new wire and push it through from the engin side into the interior of the car.

    Hope that helps a little.

The way you do everything that has to do with replacing the latch/handle/cable for the hood is this:

You get the latch out from the front of the car, remove the plastic cover (snaps off), you simply take the cable out of the latch mechanism (it just sits in there) and everything can just go from there. Slide the grommet off that way as the piece of the cable end inside the latch fits through the grommet.
