    Running bad in rain?

It seems that everytime it rains heavily my car just doens't want to run smoothly. Sunny and dry it runs like a dream but as soon as it gets wet, it doesn't start as well nor does it run smooth at all. it seems to jerk around alot in lower gears. Anyone else notice this. Hell it could be a real dumb thing i'm askin but i'm just wondering.

If you have a distributor cap, check to make sure there are no cracks in it. Moisture can get into it and make it run like crap.

    Hope this helps

I know of an easier way if it's the cap. Take it off completely, lock yourself in the bathroom and shine a pen light (mag light for me) on the inside while checking for light from the outside.

i had the same problem with my '89 325i. i just did a replacement of the distributor cap and the rotor and the day after it rained hard as all hell. No stumbling or poor acceleration.

thanks to all. I'll replace the distributor cap and see if it helps.
