Fuel Tank Size

I'm on a quest to find the actual size of my gas tank.

Searched throughout the forum and just basic car info and what I always seem to find is 2.5L 168 hp I6.
Standard Engine size,which I have no idea to read.

Searched Google and found this http://ee1394.com/bmw/docs/factory/Capacities.pdf
on M42Club.com claiming that roughly that my car has a 16.4 gallon capacity.
I'm very skeptical of that claim, 16 gallons seems pretty high.

I'm just looking for the actual size and capacity of my '88 325is gas
tank, or any tank size comparisons for that matter.

16 gallon, early cars have a 12 gallon tank

So the actual size is 16.4 gallons.
Holy crap that's huge.
How early are the early cars?

Early E30s are 84-87, late models are 88-91 and convertables were made til 92.
