my convertible top motor just broke...

I was going to put the top down on the Vert and I heard snap..I went to check and it looks like the motor top assembly cracked. If I try to open the top Manually, would it damage the whole system in the meantime while I get this thing replaced and repaired ?

you can disengage the motors but the lid wont be held down proporly. if your not going on the freeway it shouldent be a problem though

I will try to disengage the motor in the meantime.. Thanks for the link. I will look that up too..

Disconnect both top rods; disconnect lid rod. Leave both motors connected to electrical. (note; lid motor will not run if top motor is unplugged.) Lid can be unlatched and latched by using the top up/down button. ( only have to hold an instant each direction.) Operate top manually. PS Your troubles are just beginning! Sell me that beautiful vert with the beautiful wheels and the beautiful hardtop and the warm heated seats and your troubles will be over forever!!!

I will see how bad it is and post some pic's... I need to start reading about the convertible top parts and pieces... This will be a good learning experience.....but if things gets too hard to do.... you will be the first to be informed about a bargain...lol ;-)
