Where could I find the piece that acts as a grommet for the strut? It bolts in with 2 bolts and holds the top of the strut to the vehicle. Mine was damaged when my stuts were blown and now the hole is too wide and the new strut moves around. I'm not familiar with any BMW/E30 parts places online.

Its called a rear shock mount. You can use e46 m3 rear shock mounts, and they are pretty stiff. However, there are better solutions. Try and get the most durable mounts that you can afford, because they are a known problem part. (Too weak in stock form)
As for parts, try http://www.pelicanparts.com or http://www.eap4parts.com
or even http://www.bavauto.com if you feel like paying too much.

Wrong! WRONG!Originally posted by ///M42 sportYou'll have to pull the side carpeted area out.
You have to open up the compartment where the top is stored. You will see them.

i just did this to my rear suspension... you buy an extra lower spring pad, but they dont just stack, you have to trim the "nipple" off one of them, i trimmed the old one, and stick the trimmed one under the new one. I bought an extra 10mm spring pad, im guessing under all the stress the spring puts on it, it adds about 7mm height. Good luck,Originally posted by NC325iCon a similar topic if i just threw in some extra spring pads would it raise the rear suspension?Dan
