Check engine flash on pre-87 Jetronic?

This may be a dumb question, but how do I flash a check engine code for a 15pin Jetronic pre-87 e30? It's a 1985 euro 320i 6 cyl. The ecu is not Motronic so the 5 pedal press trick does not work, and since it's 15 pin, the 20 pin Peake Research tool won't pull a code either.

See, it was a dumb question, just read on another thread that the amber "check" actually means to look at the check panel, not check engine.

Can someone verify?

Now I've got to figure out why "motor oil" illuminates on the check panel whenever I press on the brake pedal...
