    Fan belt replacement

So I was flying down the 210 freeway at about 12:45 am and doing about 80 mph and cranking it up a bit to about 100 mph . Car was running real well, no traffic anywhere to be found so I decide to take it up to 120 mph. I kick it there for about 5 seconds and let the engine wind down to about 80 mph and after about 4 minute I notice somethings not right.

I shut off the stereo and start focusing on the sound of my engine. I slow way down and thats when I noticed I was burning some heavy oil because I saw all of this bluish smoke coming out from behind me. I was still about 6 miles from home so I start milking it as best that I could. I hear knocking and the whole car starts filling up with smoke and I am just freaking out trying to make it home.... windows open, sunroof open, emergency flashers on....5 th gear to 4th gear and then to third. Finally I make it home and it seemed like the engine is on fire from all of the smoke that is pouring out from underneath the hood.

I quickly open up the hood and see all that all of the coolant splashed out everywhere and the collant resevior was melted. There was plops of oil all around and some must have gotten onto the header because the smoke was just terrible when the car was runing. Upon closer inspection it seems that the fan belt broke and that was the beginning of my present problem.......

    Any ideas?..........

Sounds like you seriously overheated the engine, which would happen when the fan belt failed. There may be some serious engine damage as a result.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Your head is probably cracked at best. I'd look for a good used replacement engine.

The temp gauge didn't indicate a problem???

^ what he said. The fan belt drives the water pump. If that belt fails, you get no coolant.

However if coolant wasn't circulating, why would the reservoir bottle melt?

Wow, the coolant reservoir melted? I've never seen that happen before...intense.

At the pressures possible in the cooling system, I don't believe a water based coolant can get hot enough to melt the reservoir. Might there have been a bit of fire from the oil on the exhaust?
