    Engine Problem

I have lost much power from my 325i motor recently. I have checked the plugs, wires, and replaced the cap and rotor. It seems like one of the cylinders isnt firing though. I had a compresion test done and every cylinder came out perfect. It also seems to be runing rich. Im not sure what to do anymore. Any suggestions to what it could be??
    Thanks!

Give me more details into why you are thinking that it is running rich. I'm thinking that it might be running lean.

How about your thermo-time switch? They seem to cause a lot of problems when they go.

If it is running rich, maybe an O2 sensor?

The thermo time switch is a sensor on the thermostat housing. It senses temperatures and sends the info to the ecu to help control injector flow and a number of other things. I hear they can cause several problems once they've died. Does the idle seem okay?

I found that the problem was my manifold setup. When I took it off the whole inside was covered with thick black carbon-like stuff. Also the top of the valves were covered with this. I took the manifold and fuel rail from my parts car and bolted it on and it runs great. I ordered new injectors also. What I am wondering is what that black stuff is caused from. Someone mentioned EGR Valve. I need to fix this before it happens again.
                    Thanks for any help!
